Plat-Eye Prowl is a high-energy, Albuquerque-based, blues band. Formed in early 2005, the band has gone through several incarnations. The talented, tightly-knit, four piece band of barroom veterans, consisting of Paul Gamble on guitar, Scott White on drums, Jack Bartberger on blues harp and Kyle Newman on bass, is fronted by an equally talented, albeit, relative newcomer, Leah Cooper on vocals. Smooth, sultry, vocals are punctuated by scorching guitar leads, which can morph quickly from soul-wrenching to searing in a heartbeat, all riding comfortably atop the driving beat from a rock-solid rhythm section. Musically, our repertoire runs the gamut from the soulful to incendiary. We play a variety of blues and blues influenced covers, by blues legends like B.B. King and Koko Taylor, classic rock by CCR and Eric Clapton, contemporary blues artists like Shemekia Copeland and Susan Tedeschi, interspersed with several original compositions. Our specialty is get-up-on-your-feet, butt-bumpin' boogie, sure to be the highlight of your club, private party or corporate event. |
